It is not too late to volunteer to help in VBS. There are still several positions available for you to fill. We still need a few more teachers, assistant teachers, and preschool guides. We always need extra hands in crafts, snacks and as floaters.

2008 Mission Trip: It is the desire of Mission's Committee and Ministry Team here at FBC to send everyone who wants to go on a mission Trip this summer and fall. Therefore, these trips will be free to anyone who wants to participate. If you cannot go, please think about sponsoring someone else. Sign up in the FBC foyer and outside the church office. Information meetings will be help starting in April.

 

FamilyFEST: Baltimore, MD - June 21-25

Is open to anyone first grade and older. Perfect for families, student teams, and adult teams. Types of ministry opportunities: Sports Camp, Tutoring, Prayer walking, Servant ministries, Creative arts, Light construction and repairs, and Medical clinics.

 

New Date for Mexico Missions:       July 12-19 is open to anyone second grade and older. Perfect for families, students teams, and adults. Types of ministry opportunities: VBS crafts, Prayer walking and Street Evangelism.

 

Travel to Turkey - October 2008

Dates will be announced soon. Types of ministry opportunities: Pray walking, building relationships with workers and local believers.

 

Mission Opportunities

 

Kidz Backyard Adventure: May 17 from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM

 

Join us for a fun morning of ministry to the children and their parents who live at Pippin Farm Apartments. We will provide Food, Arts and Crafts, Music, Bible Lesson, and Games. We need FBC member to help, we begin at 10:30 AM. If you can help please sign up outside the church office.

 

Ocean City, MD

Mark Your Calendar: We will be going to Ocean City on Monday July 21 to feed 300 plus International Students at Ocean City Baptist Church. We will need between 15 & 20 volunteers to help with this ministry. We will leave First Baptist at 3:00 PM look for more information to follow soon.

 

 

More - Mission Opportunities

 

Migrant Camp Ministry

We are gearing up to visit the Migrant Camp once again this summer. It is our hope to provide clothing, food, and a worship service for our neighbors.

 

For Migrant Camp: We will be collecting: Men's Jeans, Men's T-Shirts, and Women (plus sizes needed) summer clothes only. We will also collect light blankets for the workers.

 

If you are interested in helping with this important ministry or if you are interest in donating as outlined above, please see Bonny.

 

School Supplies for the Children in Mexico:

 

During VBS this year we will be collecting School Supplies for Mexico, so start preparing to donate items to bring them to VBS. Suggested items are:

 

Crayons, pencils, erasers, markers, watercolor paints, small packets of construction paper, etc..

 

We meet Monday nights beginning at 7:00 P.M. at FBC, please understand that confidentiality is a requirement. Celebrate Recovery is a 12 step, Christ centered program dealing with all kinds of hurts, hang ups, and habits. All are welcome!

 

Childcare is available at no charge.
