On the Lord's Day I was in the Spirit, and I heard behind me a loud voice like a trumpet. (Revelations 1:10)

The Missions Evangelism Committee is to plan all phases of the Mission and Evangelism activities for the body of Christ here at FBC.

When you pray for the peoples of Central Asia, you enter their lives. You become a part of their   stories. You step into God’s grand plan for the nations.

Pray for the Turks of Turkey. May the story of God’s grace spread from generation to generation until whole families stand together singing His praise.

FEEDING America

A 2007 study found that in the United States:

37.3 million people were in poverty

     (12.5%)

13.3 million children under the age of

     18 were in poverty (18%)

3.6 million seniors 65 and older were

   in poverty (9.7%)

36.2 million Americans (23.8 million

adults and 12.4 million children) lived

   in food-insecure households

3.9 million of all U.S. households

3.4%) accessed emergency food from

a food pantry one or more times

Southern Baptists can help alleviate hunger by giving to the World Hunger Fund. When you use the new (Reusable) Bread Basket banks 100% of all contributions will feed hungry people.

All in the family

People frequently go on short-term trips with immediate family members, most often with siblings. But only 14% of these trips were parent facilitated.  This means that just 1% of Americans have ever taken a mission trip as a  family. 2010 is a great year to plan a Family Mission Trip, if you are interested in more information, please contact Pastor Mike.

You Can Help the Relief

Efforts in Haiti

More than 2 million people in Haiti’s capital, Port-au-Prince, and many more throughout the country are in desperate need of water, food, shelter and medical care following the catastrophic earthquake January 12.  You can give to help Southern Baptist relief efforts there. If you would rather give by check or money order, make it payable to IMB and reference the Haiti Response Fund in the memo section.

Apart from donating to the disaster relief fund, concerned individuals can help greatly by joining in focused prayer for Haiti’s 9 million people, more than 80 percent of whom live below the poverty line, said David Brown, who with his wife, Jo, directs BGR work in the Americas.
