Student Ministry at FBC

The student ministry at FBC exists to help students become more like Christ by loving God, loving others, and loving to serve.

All events, programs, small groups, and teaching times revolve around helping students to love God, love others, and love to serve.

What We Do

The student ministry at FBC consists of any students who are in the 7th-12th grades and is open for anyone to attend.

So what are we teaching at the youth house?

Currently, on Sunday nights, we are focusing on the life of Jesus in the gospels:  Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John.

On Sunday mornings, the girls are studying the life of Hannah and how to be a godly woman.  The guys are studying the Kingdom of Heaven (Matthew 5).

On Wednesday nights, the youth are studying how to have a Christian worldview by going through a study called “Demolishing Strongholds”.  Here they learn the difference between evolution vs. creation, the biblical message of racial reconciliation, and the impact of media on what we believe.

Jesus loves students and so do we at First Baptist Church.  The adults are caring and passionate about teaching teenagers how to love God, love others, and love to serve.  So come follow us as we follow Christ.

We have designed 3 steps that will help teenagers become more like Christ by loving God, loving others, and loving to serve.  These steps work best when followed in order.

Sunday nights (6-7:30pm) is our “First Step” at the youth house.  This time is dedicated to helping everyone to feel comfortable and accepted so that they can hear about who Jesus is and what He has done for them.  This night focuses on the question, “Why should I love God?”

On Sunday mornings (9:45 10:45am), the youth meet in small groups in the youth house.  This would be the next step that we would encourage students to take after attending a Sunday night activity.  Students are divided into 3 different groups where they can deepen their walk with Christ and their sense of community.  The main focus of this time is “How do I love others?”

Wednesday nights at the youth house (6:30-8pm) are designed to take students into the practical implications of their faith.  Here, they learn more about Jesus Christ and how that relationship affects the whole world. They are given opportunities to express that they “love to serve”.   This final step will flow back into the first step as students invite their friends to hear the Gospel and seek ways to serve and reach those who do not follow Jesus.  The main question of this night is “How can I change the world?
